How To Use Blogging To Increase Your Sales

Advertising is everywhere and as consumers we are getting less and less forgiving of poor taste ads that are often painfully generic, spammy and intrusive of our personal space. In the fast paced world we live in, it is becoming more and more important for businesses to build a trusting relationship with their potential customers in order to grow their data base and make sales.I’ve personally found that taking time out to write blogs is a powerful way to connect with myvaudience, give them free content and build a transparent relationship. Over the past 4 months, I’ve noticed that every time I write and post a blog I see a spike in my online sales. Well thoughtvout blogs really do work. Here are my 3 tips for effective blogging that will increase your sales.1. Be authentic. Whenever I sit down to blog I stop for 30 seconds, close my eyes, take a big deep breath and ask myself ‘what do I know to be true?’ I often think of a recent topic, piece of advice or hot tips that I’ve used in my own business and take it from there. The trick is to write what you know. Don’t try and be something you're not because it will show. Find a topic that you are passionate about and that you know deep down to be authentic to you and you will write with ease.2. Keep it simple. Ain’t nobody got time for essays. Trending blog posts are typically between 300-600 words. Keep your post simple and to the point. Popular blogs solve problems for people, so work out what problems your audience might be facing and alleviate their stress by offering them practical solutions. Start your post by outlining the problem and relating to the pain it causes. From there you can offer simple and easy to follow solutions.3. Boost your post. Facebook is a powerful tool for reaching your target audience. Once you’ve posted your blog on your website, you need to find ways for people to see it. Don’t assume that people will come looking for what you have to say. Go to your audience by posting a link to the blog on your social channels, using the FB boost button to push your post out to a wider audience, and blast it out to to your mailing list.BONUS TIP:  Write for other blogs. Offering your post to other sites with a similar target audience can be a great way to expand your audience.  It also means you get to position yourself as an expert in your field and reach customers who don't yet know about you. You might also like to buy an online ad on someone else's blog to have them recommend you and your product/service. Endorsements are one of the most powerful and effective ways to build trust and increase sales.
